I would like to change my RB intake manifold so I can put the trottle body to the front so I can use a front mount intercooler and the piping would be alot easier. Can I use a RB26DEt Intake Manifold on my RB20DET? What would I have to do as per procedure wise? Gasket, TPS, ETC, Injector rail ????? Would be a sipmle cahnge or are there alot of modifications to the manifold? Thanks

I'm pretty sure the RB26DETT has an ITB setup and I'm sure it would require a lot of modification if it is possible.

found this for u 20 guys:

not sure on details. just cruising skyline pics.

ps. its usually easier to just run over the top piping as to changing to a non over the top manifold. (not saying its better, but your looking for easier). also try top hat?

Is it me or does that pic look photoshopped? I bet that design would lean out your first cylinder. and it would def be easier to make a whole top section.

There's a guy on the skylinesdownunder.com.au forums who put the RB26 mani on his 20... and was very clear that it was a total bish to make work; something like 2 hours install, 6 hours fab time, or something ridiculous like that. Tophat makes an upper plenum replacement for somewhere around $400, and there's the RIPS manifold for around $1200.

I say, if you've got a RB26 manifold, lots of experience and LOTS of time, go with that. If nothing else, you can play on the wow factor. If you need to run a front mount on the cheap, go with Tophat. If you want to have the cleanest freakin' intake mani available for the RB20, get the RIPS piece.

Of course, you could just run the cold pipe in front of the motor to the cold side of a front mount. Even though the cold pipe will be running right next to the hot pipe, you'll still see some gains from the front mount.

And having the stock manifold is not hard just have to cut a little hood bracing and a 90 degree bend its easy.

That eBay mani looks like the Tophat upper plenum being sold with the stock lower runners.
