Hey guys I have been reading up what you guys been doing and your stickies as guidence on my RB swap. So far I swapped on my RB20 into a 89 s13 and have not yet hook everything back up (i.e. pwr steering, radiator hoses, vaccum lines, wire splicing etc.) I have a question about the power steering on the RB.

My friend said that I need to remove some fins from the RB pwr steering pump because my car does not have HICAS. I was wondering if it is necessary to remove these fins, and if I do have to remove them, how would I do so?

thanks for hearing me out!

Take the bolts off the power steering pump, remove the 10 or so little square metal pieces in the rear, put back together, and plug the hole in the rear!

if you do not take them out and plug the hole then your pump will explode

sohc or dohc car? Ace is correct about the pump. If it's a sohc car, you need custom lines or swap to a dohc p/s setup.

Or, you can loop the p/s lines and have no p/s for a clean look and a buff left arm.

Cool thanks for the heads up guys, much appreciated!

Do you know the range nissan or any other company sells p/s lines for a dohc 240 or do you think junkyard is probably the best answer?? My car is a 89 240, hence it was a sohc.

what would happen if I remove those metal fins from the pump and do not replace the lines?

junkyard unless you want to pay 100+ from the dealer!

Or just make custom lines

Hey ace, when you are talking about the p/s lines, is it the one going from the pump to the reservoir or is it the one connected the to rack pinion?

Is it possible to use the oem r32 reservoir + lines?

btw, i saw couple of youtube vids from you ace, hope everything works out if they havent already
