do you have an aftermarket temp gauge or are you talking about the stock on in the cluster? if its the one in the cluster id get an aftermarket one to be more accurate. as i stated in another thread the temp in the cluster will stay in the middle in a wide range of temps. while on my pfc it reads anywhere from 65ish-105C (maybe higher, havent went that high) and it still reads in the middle.

stock gauge is trash, my defi gauge was reading 120(!)*C once when it overheated...stock gauge was chillin and had just started to move.

if you want the best accurate temperatures in all of your guages go with mechanical guages iam using auto meter pro comp ultra lite

i use the stock s14 cluster gauge with the RB sender. sits in the middle between 120-170ish F, then rises and is over the "H" mark by 210F. works ok for me and just so happens to have decent resolution due to using the wrong sender for the cluster. i also have an autometer gauge and the readout from the PFC though.

I heard you were supposed to swap over the KA sender to the RB motor for the stock gauge to work properly. With Defi temp gauge and PFC I don't pay much attention to it anyway, but, thats what I heard.

that is true. but my ghetto method of not swapping it over has resulted in an overly sensitive factory temp gauge which isn't bad to have either

yes the one wire one is only for the gauge cluster and won't affect how the engine runs, just how the cluster displays. dont mess with the 2 wire one since that one goes to the ECU.

i switched mine over, then ended up buying a new oem one because i thought it wasnt reading right and it still reads how i described (wide range). are s13 and s14 sensors the same? id rather have an overly sensitive one than one that barely moves

i don't know if you'll get the oversensitive effect with the s13 one. mine is s14 cluster with RB sender. reads middle by like 140ish F and at the first H line by 190, and OVER the H line by 210.

lol nevermind thats a little too sensitive for me. that would have me paraniod all the time even though i have the pfc for my temp gauge.

ok now after almost a week of driving around the highest temp recorded was 82 degrees C!

That was after about a half hour drive, floggin on it a bit and then coming home and letting it idle for a few minutes.
