Hey everyone, first thread so go easy on me... Been on the search engine for hours, but the new search is kickin' my butt, so i decided it might be easier to ask around...

Anyway, here the synopsis. I got a pretty good deal on an RB20 from someone in Ontario, and we've been trying to work out shipping. Shipping company is all ready to go, but we need brokerage, and apparently, from what he says, they will not let the engine over here because it is from a Skyline... I question this a little since there are plenty of RB's imported to the states. So i guess my questions are:

1) What documentation are customs going to need to allow the engine over here?

2) My last resort is to say "screw this", grab a trailer, take a short 13 hour drive there, and bring it back myself (which im not all that opposed to...). I think these are the only forms i need, but im not certain.

Sorry for how long this is. Any help/advice is greatly appreciated.

Only about 400 for engine, transmission, sensors, etc. The guy went RB26 so he didn't need it wasting space...

realize if hes switching in a 25 means he was prob running the piss out of this motor! beware since you cant hear it run AND dont get a warranty after purchased

The seller has been pretty honest and helpful throughout the whole process, but its a risk that im taking, and besides for 400 is not that big of a loss for a complete swap... My main problem is getting it into the country.

Edit: I was wrong, he went rb25, though it really doesn't matter...

getting it into the country?
where is the engine located now?
I doubt that the border patrol will have any idea what the engine is much less what it is out of and will most likely wave you thru.

Why a truck and trailer? A truck will hold it all no problem

I just use my s13 hatch, i hauled a full rb20 swap last year and last week I picked up a rb25. A few days ago I had both rb's and my engine hoist in the back.

Hatches rule.

Thanks Carl. It's located in Ontario pretty close to the border. I think i will go and grab it with a friend of mine.

Haha rust. I have a coupe 240. I do have a hatchback NX though, but i dont think the GA16 will like that! But we'll be goin up there in a Blazer, so we'll need a trailer.

Thanks guys for your input!
