going out to the track today in hopes of low 13's in the 1/4 mile. last time i was out there i was running 14.1@101 consistantly. this was on the stock PFC base map (which dyno'd a weak 180whp and 160tq). my 60ft's were also very a consistant 2.1. i have a competition stage 3 clutch and i cant figure out how to lower my 60fts. ive tried launching at different rpms, dumping the clutch, feathering it and i always get 2.1.

im using some 205/50/15 bfg drag rads that i got for free. i know they arent the best choice of tires and even look ugly on my car but its all i have right now.

im now tuned to 266whp/245tq at 12 psi and 286/260@14 psi. id like to get my 60's down to 1.8-1.9 with these tires but im not sure what the trick is. on my h22 civic i can get 2.0s at least all day with the 14" street tires feathering it. any advice would help.

well i managed to get pretty consistant 2.0's off the line and got a best of 13.24@106 with the 12psi tune (dont think i will be using hte 14psi, im scared to blow my turbo)

what are you guys launching at? i was launching at 4500. i didnt get enough runs in to try launching higher, still getting used to doing rwd launches. im feeling 12's if i can get under 2.0...

Well Since we have the same car with the same motor, Ill give you my tips,

First, Is to get some type of Posi or LSD, I personally run a Welded stock rear end, The RB seems to like the 408 rear gear.

2nd, I would get a Bigger tire, I run 275-50-15's BFG DR's and Im Having a problem Spinning to the 60ft still, But Im also running a 2 step, So you shouldn't have the same problem i am.

3rd, The Rb likes leaving between 5,000 and 5500RPM's.

I leave at 5500 off my launch control @ 10lbs of boost. The last time at the track I was only cutting 1.7 60's Spinning threw the 60' mark.

I have went 1.6 60ft with a MT Drag Slick and No launch control, leaving at 5500-6,000, But as a suggestion watch out launching as hard as I do, at a 6400RPM launch I snapped both axles, Also at a 3,600RPM launch on my launch control I Twisted the U-joints out again makes 2 sets. ( I have upgraded the Driveshaft to hold bigger U-joints now from ShaftMasters)

But so far on a set of Stock axles New, New Driveshaft, new launch control, DR's and 15" wheels, I have did almost 20 Passes with No breaking @5500RPM's.

Hope that helps.

The Bfg's don't even compair. In 7 passes I used 1/4 inch of tread off them. That was from spinning to the 300' mark. Then I started staying in the burnout box for at least 45 seconds, They finally got hot enough to hook a 1.7 60' but Hell they were bald by the end of the night. I got a total of 14 passes on them. Usually a set of Mt et streets I can get a full season.

light weight flywheels are a big no no when it comes to drag racing. it does not keep the inertia (so it pretty much bogs) so the stock steel flywheel keeps the inertia need to launch out of the hole.

the past 2 months of slick researching has sent me to order some MT ET streets. The 26x11.50x17 at the ones to be exact. Im going to hold off on the 2 step for anouther 2 months probably. so I cant wait to see what times I will run with all the info I have come across.

I have a set of ksport springs. Im going to go completly stock rear and the stock shocks up front with the ksports.

Then ill try stock springs and shocks all the way around.

Then I may cut half a coil off the front and rear with the stock shocks all the way around and see how that does.

I have a leight weight fly. I hope the bogging down theory isnt true...

damn, i totally forgot about this thread LOL

those times were actually the best i could muster. 13.2@106-108 consistently with 2.0 60fts.

this year im hunting for mid to low 11s... would love to get banned for no cage.

setup changes include:275/50/17 BFG drag radials 180sx vlsdisis intake manifold, z32 maf, q45 tb, upgraded turbo and injectors, soon to have a new tune... should be around the 400whp range. wish me luck this season!
