Ok i had a buddy of mine wire my rb for me and just recently i started wiring my dash. Anyways he had two wires coming from the rb harness wired together for the fuel pump to run and i unwired them so i could wire everything else. Anyways i was pretty sure it was the black w/ pink stripe and the light blue w/ black stripe but now everytime i turn the key on, the fuel pump is always on and stays on and wont stop. So are those two wires correct? Please someone help me out.

thank you

black and pink - fuel pump relay

blue and black - coolant temp

You need to connect the chasis' black and pink wire (under passenger side relay panel) to wiring harness' black and pink wire.

With the ignition turned on, the fuel pump should run for about 10 seconds or so until the fuel line is primed.

Ok nvm about the wire question. I got it all figured out. I had used a diffferent colored wire for my ka fuel pump wire and i got confused. But i was right and i have evrything wired correctly but now the fuel pump wont shut off once i have the key turned. Whats the problem? It never did this before until now that i have the dash wired.

well for some reason the power from the relay is not being shut off.

maybe its stuck in the closed position? Try swapping the relay out.

Do you have a fuel pressure gauge installed yet? Is the fuel pressure rising when the pump comes on?

Does it run for a whole minuite?

No i dont have a fuelpressure gauge installed yet. Do i need that? ANd no it doesnt run for a minute. It runs forever. It runs as long as the key is turned on.Man this is pissing me off!!

A fuel pressure gauge is a nice thing to have, but you only really need it if you have an aftermarket fuel pressure regulator.

what fuel pump are you using?

I am having the same problem, the fuel pump doesnt shut off. I have a walbro 255 and a nismo FPR. When the key is on the pump starts and holds pressure constant at about 40 psi. The problem only started after I started wiring my windshield wipers.

Maybe it has something to do with my wiper wiring? I also thought maybe my tank is so empty its not sucking in any gas...thus never priming and shutting off??

I havent had much oppertunity to check it out (school starting) but when I get to the bottom of it I'll post up my solution..maybe it will help.

If your positive its wired right, I guess you could try swapping the ecu

check to see if the pump is getting 12v when you turn the key on. if it is the check the ground if its good the pump is bad....If you not getting 12v when the key is turned on (in the first 5-10 sec) then the relay or computer may be bad..

I did notice a while ago before i was doing the wiring for the dash that the ecu was smoking alittle bit. But it doesnt do that anymore...so im guessing its the ecu. I will swap that out first and i will go from there..
