As most of you know, I have an RB25DET installed in my 92 240SX hatch back. (I know I owe you guys some pics, but I have been too busy driving it)Anyway, I used Mckinney mounts which moves the motor back a little and down more than using the RB crossmember.

I used the downpipe from the RB25, and the stock CAT and exhaust from the 240. (bolted right up)

The downpipe hangs kind of low, and I have hit it once on a speed bump. I just ordered an Apexi N1(Dual) exhaust to let the RB breath a little better. Before I install it, I was thinking about taking the downpipe and having it shortened an inch or two to give me better ground clearance.

Has anyone else had this issue? If so what did you do?

Taking out some from the stock down pipe is a good way to get the extra clearane you need.

have you used them on an RB25 with mckinney's mounts?I am just a little concerned about the motor sitting differently than with the RB's Xmember. I would hate to buy one and it still have the same problem.

Night,Didn't Zach have problems with your downpipe when he put the spacers on his crossmember? I can't remember if that ever got resolved, but I dont know if the pipe would work since you planned yours with the stock RB mounts and crossmember and McKinney's use the KA crossmember and sit the engine different...I could be completely wrong on this though.

Hey Jon, good to see you still posting in here. I think the same thing about the downpipe. I don't really want to "beta" test it. I am probably going to have the pipe shortened. If it is very expensive, I will just get a custom pipe made, so I can have the exhaust fit exactly the way I want it.

He said he would IM me or shoot me an email if he couldn't get it to work and then send it back to me...but I never got the email or the DP back so maybe he got it to work? In his avatar on another forum he posts that he has "custom 3" downpipe"....so maybe he did use it. It would be a trial thing to see if they work with the McKinney Mounts...my mounts should be finished in about a month or so and on the market...then comes the driveshafts, custom turbo downpipes, intake manifolds, and turbo manifolds, fuel rails etc...

will your mounts do the same thing as McKinney's? Any idea on the Price Range?
