When it is really cold outside, just for reference lets say below 32 degrees, my car will not get spark. It simply will not spark!! But if I sit there and crank it over several times over a 2 minute period, it will back fire like you wouldn't believe and then it will start and run fine!! I have a side exit exhaust and its angled down to the ground, and the back fire was so loud it blew a crater in a gravel driveway! I have an rb20det swap in an 89 240sx. I have the buick coil conversion. Someone please help ASAP.

How are you sure its spark?

First thought here is that its a fuel problem. You either need to top off your coolant so its submerging the coolant temp sensor... or replace a bad coolant temp sensor.

My car was damn near impossible to get started when it got cold before I got the cold start setup stuff done.
