Hey guys, I tried searching but got no answer. What should I expect to pay for a basic RB20 swap into a S13?

Are you doing the labor yourself? or paying a shop to install it for you?

I was planning to have a shop do it for me. I wanted to see if it was worth paying a little more for a RB than a red top SR.

rb motors are cheaper to get in and running but as you step it up it might not be so cheap...however prices on cams and the like have started to fall as of late, so its up to you really...

make sure if you go rb that you do replace the water pump and t-belt before the motor is installed. my belt was ok, but my water pump was leaking out of the weep hole at startup.

Right now the running total on my RB25 swap including engine and shell is at 5200...about 300 more and it will be running, and have 3" exhaust, FMIC and LSD. I know this was about a RB20 but hey just throwing figures out haha.

and when replacing the timing belt you need to replace the tensioner and idler pullies as well. the two in my motor were trashed and not replaced when the previous owner changed the timing belt. failure of either of those pullies means death to your engine
