also the clutch fan for from a 91 pathfinder fits, and is way easier to find than a Z32 or Rb where i am at.

If you have room for clutch fan I'd recommend gktech clutch fan it pulls 11% more air than a stock fan. Don't quote me on the numbers but its better than oem fan

Why would you need to pull more air? I now have to drive a solid 45 min to get my defroster to blow hot this winter. Ever heard of a RB running too cold for liking before?

Then your thermostat isn't working correctly or something else is wrong.

No front mount to block the air, clutch fan, low temp thermostat, N1 water pump, and large Griffen Radiator with water wetter is my setup. It didn't overheat with a pair of FAL pushers and a front mount, in 100+ weather, but fans kept on burning relays so i ditched them.

I suppose there could be an issue with the heating, but generic temp gauge corresponds It gets hot, just takes more than 45 min at 55mph to get over the heater to be even warm to the touch. might have something to do with the pathfinder clutch fan as well (spec sheet: Briefly engaged at cold start-up, Engages at about 170° radiator air temperature, (about 30° lower than coolant temperature).)

In all fairness ambient temps are in the 40's, and i can count on one hand the number of people with a HMIC and a RB. I think a FMIC really chokes the airflow. also I kind of want to hook the laptop to the nistune just to get a better read/log on it. i wonder in nistune works on windows 8.

Are you running one on your RB? Last I heard there were some mounting flange fitment issues and it currently wasn't compatible with the RB fan clutch.

HMIC or not, I drove my RB consistently all winter for years and always had heat relatively quickly. Just saying it's worth looking into.

Thanks for the heads up, i am keeping an eye on it. believe me i would like to find out if something is wrong, and what i can tweak to get warmup a little faster. but so far everything checks out green, and has for around a year, with about 4 years of reliability behind it before the swap to HMIC and the start of the issue.

Interesting. What are your actual water temperatures like? How low temp is your thermostat? That could be your problem right there.

you might have air in the system...it takes forever for my car to warm up if there is even the slightest bit of air.
even then when you have 3 gallons of coolant capacity anything takes a while to warm up.

45 minutes to get warm to the touch is an awful long time.

When I get my car back out I'll see how long it takes. I had a thermostat hungup that wasn't closing completely last fall. Yay for very low coolant temps.
