rb cas ?

I tryed searching for 15 minutes with all sorts of words and came up with nothing usefull. I was looking at a 92 300zx CAS it looks kinda like the one I use to have for my rb20. I lost the cas on the voyage home year + ago. I should have made shure thing were bolted on better. Oh well. Everybody want a mint for a used rb CAS. Does anybody know if they are the same? I could get a 300zx cas for cheaper than a rb CAS.I have no problem buying a rb cas but if there are other options open why not use them.

300zx cas is much easier to find at junkyards for like ten dollars.

yes dude 300zx cas will work for rb20. may have to cut the plugs off and change plugs I think i'm not sure yet, but it does fit its the same bolt patten and size.

i do not think u have to change the plug connectors.

See what im saying everbody wants 100-150 for used cas when I can get 300zx ones for 30-90. Im going to just order a 300zx one and take the gamble i can alway sell it again. I can get a used one off car-pars.com for 25 plus shipping and he has next day shipping not that I need it. I have 2 rb swaps and im trying to buy a gtir to daily drive so anything I can save. I plan to build my own house in a few years too so I gota pich some pennys to make things work. You know....

This will not work for a neo they are different. My rb20 is at the my buddys machiene shop now he should be done prepping it for re assembly and the mls gasket. Once I get it back and get the thing in one piece ill let you know if there 100% workable. Im still comparing it to my 26 one just to make shure.

cas i believe for a direct fit must be off of a 95+ vg30de.

If you go to car-parts.com they tell you about every nissan /infinity that theses were on. Just search for like a 92 300zx. Thats every junk yard in the usa linked to one page. and if i were you if u get one from a 300zx make it 91 to 94.. i dont think u should go higher than 94 year.

i think i looked this up before at some point in time in FAST. IIRC, the p/ns are different b/w the RB and the Z32 CAS. That does NOT mean it won't work though... i'd give it a shot.

If you do do this... test it out first before trying to fire up your car... as in: remove all 6 coil packs attach spark plugs to them and spin the CAS by hand and watching the firing order.

Did anyone try the z32 CAS on a rb25 to see if it worked? cuz i think my CAS is bad and can get my hands on a z32 CAS from a buddy of mine. I just want to know if it works?

So wait are all RBs the same size disk and pickup, just different housings and cam connection shaft?

Therefore you could theoretically rebuild any CAS from an rb with a z32 pickup and disk correct?
