my rb20 swap just arrived from one of our sponsors.

didnt have a maf, no biggie.

a 3/4in thick wire group that splits off right after it goes through the firewall is cut. maybe 20 wires.

i called them and they said that happens sometimes. is this an acceptable response or should i b*tch and complain for another harness?

i dont want to bother them, but honestly dont want to deal with wiring nightmares.

Did they advertise that it wouldd come with a MAF and a complete harness? If so then you shouldn't even need to ask "should I bit.ch" If they did and you didn't get what you paid for then it's

what did you pay for your motorset, i mean i would ask a shop how much they want for a maf and to fix wiring (finding plugs = night mare btw) and i would send that right back to the shop you bought it from, espically id they did not tell you about the issue. i would go on to say sourcing a harness will be a huge pain in the *** and be overpriced. sourcing a maf is not to bad and should be under 100 dollers seeing as how the more popular "upgrade" z32 maf is 100 bux btw that maf is not plug and play, i have seen complete rb20 motorsets run under 2k SHIPPED

they said they would ship me a maf. advertised as complete un-cut harness.

the alt wiring harness was also cut as well as what looks like a map sensor.

based on your responses im going to ask that they send me another harness and see what they say.

so far the company has been ok to deal with. im sure they will deal with the issues.

Ditto. Dont be shy in telling us, if they dont want bad reviews, they shouldnt ship out bad motors.

? I don't see any problems... What are you complaining about??

Kidding. that looks nasty. I would definately call the seller up and tell them they have "some 'splaining to do!"!

eh with the rb20 the lower harness is trash anyways as the ka is used and for the main harness is this going into a s14 or s13? either way its nothing that cant be fixed or is cut during a swap anyways.

If you need a mafs I got one I can sell.

Your harness doesn't look all that bad actually..the alternator stuff is part of the lower harness and that is all ka when swapping.

Your original post had me thinking they cut the whole main harness from the grommet lol.But thats not all that bad.

got it. this is my first swap and have no idea where those wires go yet. to me those look like a hunk of wires that i may need.

i have the writeups but havent look through them real good because the motor is still on a pallat. i was going to wait until i installed the motor before worrying about wiring.

thanks for the input.

So where did you get it from and for how much? If you got a good deal on it, why complain? If you paid full price I would expect no cut wires or missing parts even if I didn't need it.

those wires look like they are main bundle that lead to the transmission for the sensors...you can use your KA lower harness without any problem

the bundle has the mass air wires in it, if that helps you figure out what bundle it is. so im going to need the mass air plug to right. any other plugs im going to need?

this is going to be a pain in the ***, now i may have to un-wrap the harness and pull the wires back to the ecu to see what they are.

let me give you some advise, I would send the harness to be done proffesionaly, talk to Carl H. here. I did the wiring my self and anytime something goes wrong right away I'm thinking is the harness.
