RB Bellhousing question

i just realized i may have the wrong bell housing or something is wrong with the bellhousing plate i have. i can see the inner side of my flywheel from under my car. Rb20 motor you can kind of see it in that pic. here is a closer pic the light grey is my flywheel. suppose to be like that?

tighten the bolts in a differen't pattern and try again?

yeah you're backing plate definately looks alittle funny. almost like a piece of it was cut out. I have an RB25 and not sure how similar they are, but, mine definately covers the entire flywheel.

My guess, and granted this MAY sound totally odd, is that someone did the "white bunny" clutch setup (D21 Truck Flywheel + Clutch) or something similar on whatever car that plate came from. They may have trimmed that piece out to clearance the larger flywheel. Either way, the plate looks mildly bent and the hole isn't anything to worry about.

that is strange my rb20 is fully enclosed.

Mine is like that but I have 2 plates that bolt from the trans to the motor so it looks enclosed. you can see in this rather large pic.
