rb back-fires loudly while starting. please help me again.

my rb20 has not started in 3 days... it does have a list of problems while it was running but i'm not getting into that for now..

just wanna know why i can't get it to start now... while trying to start sometimes it back-fires sooo loudly that it actually does sound like a damn gun shot just went off like a shot-gun.

what is wrong????

Timing? Check the timing maybe your belt took a ****? I dunno...Realistically all your engine needs is spark, fuel, timing...Remove the cas and spin it you should hear your injectors clicking, or feel them click, aND YOU SHOULD HEAR YOUR FUEL PRESSURE SURGE TO THE FUEL LINES...Take a coil off and put a spark plug on it, spin the cas and it should spark...if you have both then check your timing...if you have spark and no fuel then you should be able to run it on starter fluid...if not maybe your eccs relays took a dive see if they are still clicking. Also make sure your wiring hasn't come loose or something. Once you try those things to the point that your 100% sure everythings on point then it could be something else. Usually backfiring is timing. What problems did you have while the car was running...maybe those problems lead to this...my rb20det hasn't even started, soooo I'm on the same boat, drinks for both of us since our engines are being gay! i did that already cuz while it was running i was having problems with it running like crap..

and i did shut the car off, removed the cas, spun it and yes i did hear all injectors click when i did it..... but ever since I done that is now when i can't get my car to start and while it back-fires loudly while cranking it over.

If your injectors are clicking, do you hear the wine of the pump at the front of the engine? Are you getting spark? If you are getting all of those things then it's timing...Check your compression.Check your plugs...are they fouled, what do they look like? Do they reek of fuel?Does it sputter at all, or does it turn over and backfire once in a blue moon.Check and recheck, timing, fuel, and spark! Gl

This is likely fuel related. Just for the record a "Backfire" is actually when fuel pre-ignities (in a carburetor) and blows back through the intake system.

I am assuming you are referring to the exhaust side?

In my experience I would say it is a faulty injector - possibly leaking into the intake runner and bleeding off all your fuel pressure.

You must be careful since it IS possible to flood your cylinder and cause damage by trying to crank it while hydrolocked.

well all the injectors are fine.. they all spray fuel.. i chekced them..

i finally got the car started again but still have problems
