I might be wrong, but I thought that the ka/vg/rb/sr auto trannies all used the same computer.

I know that the hks alc i have on my 300zx TT auto, also works on a 300zx na and a rb series ecu.

I'm also pretty sure the rb series ecu is identical to the z32 vg series ecu except for the bin on the prom.

The rb20 s24 and ka24 transmissions are supposed to be the same under the bell housing, one would think their electronics would be too.

Best bet is to borrow one from someone whom has done a auto to 5 speed conversion and try it out.

I have an auto trans box, the ecu for the actual transmission, but not the regular engine ecu. I know I unplugged mine when I went from 5 speed to auto. If his car was auto, then he should be ok, a normal engine ecu will work.

my s14 was installed originally as an automatic rb20det. The shop that installed it could not get the wiring right. Is it going in an s13 or s14? i have a custom panel with the Power/hold switch that you must install to get it working half way decent. my car is a 5 speed now. I will see if the shop that did my transmission swap still has my auto comp. i dont think the ka comp will work, different type sensors i beleive. I also have an extra rb auto transmission, torque converter, and flexplate if your interested.
