I researched the part numbers for someone who was short a flow meter and I want to share the info with all you guys swapping in J-spec motors. These are all the ones I could think you guys would need.

RB20DET(R32) 22680-02U00RB25DET(R33 early) 22680-02U00RB25DET(R33 later) 22680-31U05RB26DETT(R32) 22680-02U00RB26DETT(R33) 22680-05U00

Enjoy :)

You are the man! You might want to put these in the RB part sticky. It is kind of messy in there, but at least it is a central point.

You need to identify if it's a series I or II.

I got those part numbers last week and called my buddy at Nissan parts to quote me on the RB25 series I AFM. It's about $240 USD with his discount. :(

If you have a five speed it doesn't matter auto or five speed puter, I never change the ECU on transmission swaps. I don't know if it's true but I have heard the auto computers have a fatter fuel map.

Sigh, search young Jedi. But for now and off the top of my drunk head......

A type II engine is newer and it’s got a better ECU on it. The wiring will be the same, but I think the way to identify it, is there will be 2 plugs instead of one at the throttle body.

The turbo compressor wheels are diiferent IIRC. The series I has an aluminum/steel wheel i think and the series II has a plastic wheel. This is the only advantage for the series I, as it can take more boost.

Correct me if i'm wrong, everyone.

The following was taken from SON240sx.ca..

Quote »

Difference Between Type 1 and Type 2 Rb25DETS

Type 1 – Years 93-94

- Has one ignitor chip - Garret turbos with steel compressor wheels - Look near back of plate covering the plugs, black box with 2 plugs, one to the harness, one to the plugs (type 2 doesn’t have this box)

Type 2 – Years 95-98

- No single ignitor chip on plug cover, all integrated internally - Where a type 1 has a black box and 2 plugs, the Type 2 has a connector plugged into another connector - 2 throttle position sensor plugs on the throttle body - Nissan badged turbo with plastic composite compressor wheel, and ceramic exhaust turbine

Here are the years according the numbers on the chassis tags on the firewall. You can use this sheet to tell the year of your engine by the chassis plate number and thus whether it is type 1 or type 2.

So if I have a series II what turbo should I upgrade to before I blow up my plastic fan.

not really, the compressor wheel isnt exposed to the environment that the turbine is.

That's used right? Either way i need a MAF. I'm eagerly awaiting cyris's email reply to see if he still wants to part his RB25 out. If it falls through, expect an email from me. Thanks man. :)

Ok, so Cyris sold his RB25 setup and i'm on the search again for a MAF for the RB25. Hook me up Toad. $50 sounds like a great deal, i won't be selling my soul right? It's already spoken for.
