Haha yeah I like that spoiler, but so much $$!
I think I'm done with the exterior for now, I'm just gonna wash my car and drive it.
That spoiler will be on my car sometime in the future though, along with the roof spoiler.

^Agree. I like that my car looks stock (except for the large coffee can muffler) from the outside. I wouldn't mind so aero (complete 180sx aero mmm...) but for now, I'd rather spend $ on other things and keep the car stock looking. It's clean, you know?

Yeah I got my hood popped a few months ago.
It was when my car was running weird, and I just got my timing set by the car shop and I was a little bit harder on the gas than usual.
A part of the road to my school is a downward slope and I went up to 50mph and I didn't realize it.

One of those shady motorcycle cops popped out from hiding and told me to pull over.
Blah blah blah he asks me if I knew why I was pulled over, etc.. and he popped his head inside my car and I guess he saw my gauges.

He called my hotpipe my cold air intake (LOL), then was confused when I showed him my OEM intake box, and he said something about my manifold and told me to close my hood.

Keeping it sleeper saved my butt! :)

Haha yeah.
The cop will be asking you about your gigantic turbo and you go "Hey look a stock airbox! Am I free to go now?"

Here's a small bit of updates!

I decided to replace the rubber bushing in the steering column with an aluminum one, and it feels great!
Old:

New Stance aluminum bushing:

It was a big pain in the butt to take out the steering wheel because I had all these wires in the way, but besides that it wasn't too bad.
I recommend this upgrade to anyone that has an S13.
My car was a '93 and replacing the old rubber was a good upgrade, it would probably be an even larger improvement for older S13s.

And of course...
Coilovers!
Fortune Auto coilovers!
I think I got one of the coilovers from their first batch of coilovers with the black rust resistant coating.

Woot! Opened the box. I love opening boxes of parts.

New vs Old
Fortune Auto coilovers are thick!

Installed in the rear:

Then I went for a drive and took some pictures of my car. I want to go lower, but I don't feel like adjusting it further right now.
I didn't take much time to take pictures since my car was dirty, so here are a few quick snaps:

Yay!
As for my initial review on these coilovers, they are very very comfy.
I drove around my city for a while, driving through the rougher parts with potholes and weird ridges where new asphalt and old cement roads meet, and they did make me cringe as I hit them.
I think if I played with my shock dampening, it'd be just as comfortable as my old lowering spring setup.
Right now it is slightly bouncy on lumpy roads, but it absorbs shocks very very nicely and I am impressed by Fortune Auto coilovers and I would recommend them to anyone.
I got their recommended 7k front/6k rear spring rates and it feels great, I love these coilovers.
To everyone that says that roughness and the lack of comfort is a part of owning coilovers, ride in a car with Fortune Auto coilovers or any other coilovers that have proper dampening, you'll change your mind.

End!

Edit:
Haha I found some old pictures that I took in the same spot, thought it'd be interesting to post them.

Nice! Car looks great as always. I tracked a friend of mine's s13 with Fortunes first batch of coilovers, handled extremely well and wasn't rough at all. When I get new coils I'm definitely going to get some Fortunes. Their office being 45 minutes up the road also might have something to do with it haha.

I've been thinking about doing the steering bushing while I upgrade all of my other steering stuff. Does it really make that much of a difference? Did you install/drive with it before the coils went on? I've heard mixed reviews about them and I'm not sure if I want to drop like 30 bucks on a piece simple enough to be made at my school's machine shop.

I got mine from a deal on Zilvia.
From Import Image.

Thanks Chris, I installed the bushing before the coilovers, I felt a bit more roughness on the freeway but there is definitely less sloppyness in the steering, I like it.
If you can, I think you should make one yourself, not much engineering goes into these haha.

Haha not a lot at all. We have a CNC machine but it'd be just as easy with a drill press and careful measurements lol. Maybe I will do it, I'm trying to get rid of all my steering slop.

Have you done any spirited driving on the coils yet? On and off ramps are tons of fun without body roll :yesnod

Yeah I took a turn near my house in a spirited fashion.
Lots of fun. :chuckle:

Motoman, get some! :P

I may lower the rear some more, since the roll center in the rear doesn't get changed so dramatically from lowering, like the fronts.
I got a few things in line to correct the front roll center, but I'll do that later.
Here's a link on what I'm going to do if anyone is curious:

I'll be going to Korea for 2 months so no updates for a while! I'm leaving on a Monday, 12:40 am.
I'll miss driving my car. :frown:

Just drop your car off at my place, I'll take good care of it haha. Maybe I'll fly out and drive it back, you know save you the hassle of getting it to the east coast.

Razi you have to take pictures when you do that lca mod! I have been thinking about it for months now but really don't feel confident with that tiny NRR write up.
