you're about to shell $900 for that? why not just save a little longer and get a RIPS?

Well, I was going to give you a good berating, but after checking the current currency exchange - a RIPS intake is $1,472.26 (plus shipping, etc). Myself (nor anyone I can think of) has anything but high regards for RIPS - just that their parts are pricey.

Honestly, I would go with RAW simply becauseA.) Ricky is in FLA, versus New ZealandB.) RAW does not sell anything less than spectacularC. He is a NICO SPONSOR

$900 isn't pricey?

i'm not saying ricky is a bad guy. i just think that manifold is way overpriced.

to me that looks like 6 velocity stacks welded to a piece of aluminum sheet that was bent several times. maybe $300 in material... plus it looks like plenum is designed for all out drag racing, its huge.

the guy is already spending 900, is the extra 500 that much when you're getting a proven manifold?

black240, i think you should reevaluate this purchase...

There is more like $300 in velocity stacks there.

Just another 500? Check that again. Its at least 600 more. Keep in mind here, thats 66% more money. Definitely nothing to sneeze at.

I totally understand where your coming from though, and it was a good idea to suggest other alternatives. Just don't belittle a part when you don't really know whats involved. Just because rips has gone single digits with that manifold doesn't mean that the other one can't.

IMO, the money you save on the manifold could go elsewhere in your build much more effectively.

how do you know i'm clueless about intake manifolds? i'd like to know who made those stacks.

this purchase should be based on what he plans to use the car for. as with everything (import or domestic) in the "tuning" world, there are different designs for different applications. he needs to find a part that suits his application.

in the end he'll buy what he wants. so good luck to you black240, and if you do end up buying this manifold please post back with a review.

400+ Hp race versions of RB20's used stock intake manifolds. You can do it too.

This is 3" piping with some hood skeleton cut up. Use 2.5" or 2.75" piping and you'll clear no problem. Mine was pretty snug.

I have a maf, its a blow through. I can fit a filter if I want, but I'll probably just run a screen. I dont think I should have got the forward mounted manifold, the center mount would have made for much more space.
