Hey guys,

Figured I would make a thread to share some of our recent work we've done for a customer that had a 700hp RB26 requirement. He wanted a show ready motor that could take daily abuse. On with the pictures...

The wide body R33 GTR rolling on VS-XX's that we're building it for:

We started from an already mildly built long block we had shelved to begin tear down:

The bottom end will be equipped with the following:

OEM R33 Crankshaft - Extended crank collar version
CP Pistons - http://rawbrokerage.com/CP-Forged-RB26D ... SC7310.htm
Carrillo Connecting Rods with 3/8" CARR Rod Bolts - http://rawbrokerage.com/Carrillo-PRO-H- ... 83S-06.htm
ARP Main Studs - http://rawbrokerage.com/ARP-Main-Stud-K ... -rbmsk.htm
ACL Rod Bearings - http://rawbrokerage.com/ACL-Race-Series ... 60H-26.htm
ACL Main Bearings - http://rawbrokerage.com/ACL-Race-Series ... M2428H.htm

The RB26 cylinder head was also prepared with goodies:

Bronze valve guides
Tomei Type-B Valve Springs - http://rawbrokerage.com/Tomei-RB26DETT- ... 17300X.htm
Tomei Type-B Poncams - http://rawbrokerage.com/Tomei-RB26DETT- ... B26pon.htm
ARP Head Studs - http://rawbrokerage.com/ARP-RB26-Head-S ... 2-4207.htm

A few other modifications including: Tomei Oil Pump, N1 Water Pump, Tomei Timing Belt, Tomei adjustable cam gears, Metal head gasket, etc... we're used to complete the long block assembly:

Image

A race ready 1500hp Ross Tuffbond Harmonic Balancer was fitted to the front as well:

Image

The oil pan was modified using our extended sump kit for the RB26 oil pans:

To start dolling up the motor we powder coated the valve covers to match the rest of the engine accents and keep the theme of the car...

To achieve the power goals desired the route chosen was to ditch the twin turbo setup and go with a single turbo manifold...

Full Race ProStreet Twinscroll Top Mount Response Manifold - Raw Brokerage - Your #1 source for GTR and RB parts!

I know you guys are going to ask, "why didn't we use our in-house manifold?" Well simply put we were in on a time crunch and the recent changes to our manifold design wasn't going to allow us to have it ready and tested for delivery. Since we had Full-Race manifolds in stock it was a no brainer

Well we sent the twin scroll manifold to our ceramic coater for some of his handy work... the ceramic coating is to keep the temps down in the engine bay, keep the exhaust heat inside the manifold for better performance, and for that oh so pretty finish :D

Image

More fuel was required than the 440cc factory units so we turned to our injector of choice for these types of builds, the Injector Dynamics 2000cc injectors:

Injector Dynamics 2000cc Injectors - RB26DETT

As well, to get the fuel through the new 11mm injectors a twin feed Tomei fuel rail was an instant match:

Tomei Top Feed Fuel Rail - RB26DETT

With the machined hats and the precisely made rail....

and with those goodies installed to the motor...

Wish you could take the oil pan off and test fit that manifold in that S30 you have in the background. I dont think the wastegate would hit.

Also most ceramic coatings that are that chrome style dont offer much of a barrier, they do look pretty though. Wonder how long it will last.

The coatings actually hold up pretty well. One of our first coated manifolds done over 3 years ago still looks great with a shine. Surprisingly, the silver coating hold in a good amount of heat and is a reliable coating for many of the dragsters and circle track cars here. The 2 stage coating (black or dark gray) offer more heat protection though.

What coater do you guys use. I was thinking about sending my turbo manifolds, dump pipes and turbo housings to Swain. God awful white but they say then can be painted, but offers really good thermal protection.

i wish i would've known about the stage two coating and colors for the promod kit. i would've loved to have either black or dark gray instead of silver. it looks good but i'm just not too into shiny.. (i'm weird like that)
