Rattling

My SR has developed some kind of rattle from the front left area of the head. It doesnt make much noise when cold but it comes around when it reaches operating temp. I have removed the top guide and changed the oil. I also replaced the tensioner with the one from my spare motor just to test. I noticed that if I rev the motor a few times the noise will go away for about 5 seconds then return. Just seeing what people think before I tear the front of the engine apart...I'm pretty sure its not a rod or anything from the bottom end. Been there done that.
