When I turn my a/c on my car engine begins to shake and there's this weird sound coming from the engine bay like there's something rattling.

the compressor? how much do you think it would cost to get a new compressor at the dealership, and for a mechanic to install it?

Don't forget the price of flushing the lines, as well as a new expansion valve and drier.

The price of A/C work is ridiculous, I agree. It makes me glad I live in a place where I can easily go without it.
