Hi there,

I've recently bought a pre-owned 2002 Pathfinder SE (68k). Some one stole my ski rack locking bolt, which caused the inside nut to get loose and slid back into driver side back corner of the inside of roof rack. Now the loose nut makes irritable rattling noise every time I drive my Pathfinder. Passenger behind driver is specially annoyed with loud rattle on top of their back head. Can any one suggest me way to take this loose nut out of its misery, and relief our ears during driving, thanks.

Use a magnet over the rack bar to bring the nut back to a spot where you can remove it.

The magnet on a spring stick (the one mechanics carry) is wider than the opening inside the rack. Any one knows smaller more powerful magnet that I can use to get the nut out of the opening? Thank you fleurys.

You did not understand me.... use a strong magnet OVER the bar of the rack and drag the nut. The magnetism will pass through the rack bar and grab the nut..
