i have this weird rattling when in any gear and accelerating at 2000 RPM to about 2800. kinda of like a tak tak tak noise then from 3000 RPM it stops. it makes the noise in any gear going between those RPM range. im confused to what is causing the noise. the sound is coming from the front passenger side. I have the DC sports exhaust and is M/T if that helps...

anything to check for?? please help, its driving me crazy, thanks

As simple as it sounds, check for a loose exhaust shield - this happened on my 240 and it drove me nuts until I figured out what it was.

For that matter check for a loose anything. Does it rattle if you're in neutral and rev to 2000-2800 rpm range? If it does you can enlist someone to look and listen for the vibration while you rev the engine or you can have them do it while you look around for it.

My DC exhaust hits the cross member (body brace with 4 bolts) when I go over an abrupt bump. Double check that as well as the heat shields.

i didnt put that cross member on because the pipe of the exhaust would be laying on it and hitting the brace and making a noise as well

the rattling noise happens only when im under load (in gear) accelerating, doesnt happen in nuetral.

im going to check for loose bolts tomor, hope its just something loose and nothing major.

Mine was too until I realized that I put the mid pipe connecting to the cat converter on upside down. Are the mounting fingers on the top or bottom of the very front pipe? They should be on bottom. The DC instructions don't warn you about it.

the B pipe (or the pipe that conencts to the cat) flanges (or hanger connecting stick) is on the bottom (bottom of the pipe) and if i put the brace on the pipe would be sitting on the brace and which made a different noise. but yea i will check for loose bolts tomor.
