i'm getting this unusual rattling noise on the passenger side of my 98 qx4. it sounds a lot like something is hitting the window.

i removed the column that covers the tweeter and tried to reach for anything that could be making the noise, but nothing . i'd like to know if this is a common problem w/qx4's? from reading a lot of post, most noises tend to be commonly present for a lot of owners.

Does the QX4 have a power radio antenna on the front, or the fixed one? Sorry for my ignorance... I have a truck with the fixed screw on antenna, and I know if they're loose they'll rattle in the wind.

i have a power antenna, but the noise is coming from inside, like w/in the dashboard- under or around the passenger air bag.

Is it a consent rattling noise? I have a knocking sound that will come and go and my sound was coming from the front passenger side. i traced it to a bad bushing in the suspension the upper tie rod.

pull your glove box assembly out and look for a connector hanging and hitting plastic. also check your defrost grille make sure it is secure. but be aware a noise heard inside the passenger compartment in the dash area could also be something hitting the firewall in the engine area. When it is inside the engine bay it usually ends up being either a tie wrap end or the brake,a/c line retainers loose.
