Well just recently I got my rear shocks changed (they were leaking). We got the Monroe Sensatrac shocks put in. Now for 4 days straight, the car was perfectly fine no noise nothing and all of the sudden on Sunday (last week) the car started making a rattling noise of some sort from the back when driving on any rough, uneven surface/road. Potholes do the same thing. Any big bump such as my driveway, no rattling sound at all. It mostly sounds like its coming from the rear right (passenger) side but I could be wrong.

We took the car back to our mechanic that installed the shocks and he checked everything out and couldn't find anything except for an O ring near the front of the car that is supposed to be attached to a flex point of the exhaust had become loose and he welded it back to where it should be.

Now after picking up the car from him again, it was fine for about 5-10minutes and boom the sound was there again, so as of right now its still making the sound (like a clank clank of two metal pieces rattling) and I really really would love to figure out what it could be. I have taken the spare & jack out as I thought it might be a possibility but so far that didn't change a thing.

Sorry for the long read, just hope somebody can help me out, Thanks!

Alright guys I figured out the sound, looks like the d!ck that put in metallic pads before I got the Thermo-Quiets put in took out the sliding shims/clips. Im not 100% sure what their called, but thats whats causing the noise due to the pads sliding/vibrating.

Now the real question, anybody know where I can get these sliding shims/clips? Its not the normal shims that come with the pads... these are on the caliper themselves that hold the pads in a solid position.

Thanks

For anybody wondering I got the issue fixed. The parts were part of an anti-rattling kit from Nissan. It costed $50.77 plus taxes (CDN funds) for the kit.

Check you front passenger seat. Try hitting the front passenger seat. Do you hear the same sound. Get your seat fixed.
