Make sure your jack is good and tight for one thing.

Mine's got a funky rattle back there. It sounds kinda like a belly dancer's finger cymbols. I haven't looked into it.

I'd be willing to bet that if you adjust the trunk latch on the lid side you will never hear the noise again. I just maxed mine out and its tight like a Benz now

I tried adjusting my latch, but it was already adjusted as low as it could go. I thought maybe the spoiler was vibrating, so tightened it a bit, but I still have a rattle. Maybe it's rear deck. I need to have somelse drive while I ride in the truck to find out.

check the clip that actually locks the trunk if thats tight..then check the baffle in the gas tank my friend...they do eventually break...and will cause a type of rattle...but check the clip on the lock assembly...

Do you mean as low as it goes or as high as it goes?

Tip...Higher is tighter, lower is looser!

^Low as it goes. Only the 'loop' part appears to be adjustable. The latch mechanism on the lid is in a fixed position. I assumed the lower the loop, the tighter the truck lid right?

edit: just saw your tip. Really? I'll give it a try.

Open trunk.. look under lid for latch ...loosen fasteners a little... push latch slightly higher (towards the sky)...Tighten... recheck

Wait, now I am confused. On my '95 s14, the latch on the trunk lid is not adjustable, only the loop above the bumper is.

I rigged it by taping the loop with some electrical tape. No more rattle.
