Ok, i've got this rattling/ clicking noise coming from my engine. i've had a couple suggestions already that it could be my timing chain or my timing chain guide. The noise only happens when i'm driving, and i'm trying to keep an even pace. when i push on the throttle more to accelerate, the sound goes away. when i let off the throttle to slow down, the sound goes away. also, this started happening after i went about 115mph. i'm not completely sure that its the timing chain because the noise does not sound like its coming from the front of the engine, but more around the 1st cylinder, exhaust cam side. when i rev the engine when i'm idling, the sound only happens around 2500 to 3k RPMs. i've taken off my valve cover and looked around for anything not normal, and the only thing i noticed is that the timing chain has enough slack on it to hit the upper timing chain guide. as you can tell, i'm very confused because it did not sound like it was coming from the front of the engine where the timing chain is, but i dunno. maybe it is the timing chain. anyways, any help at all or any advice would help out a lot. thanks in advance.

yeah i change my oil every 2500 miles with mobile 1 synthetic. i've also been told that it could be due to some small dents in my oil pan. i just noticed them today. anyways, they are on the side of the pan, i'm not sure if that would affect the oil pick up but i'm going to pound them out anyways. also, if it is because of my oil pan, then that means i'm not getting as much oil pressure as i should be. the chain tensioner is activated by oil pressure and since i'm proabably low on pressure, the chain isn't as tight as it should be. i can push the chain up and make it hit the upper chain guide. which is not supposed to happen.

i also noticed some oil around the oil pan as well. where the aluminum oil pan (small black one) meets the steel part of the engine, there was some oil around the lip. i wonder if the seal broke in that spot ...i dunno, hopefully something gets fixed.
