yeah, that and theres a loud noise that sounds kindof like a horse but ONLY when its cold, only seems to happen in winter, or when the car hasnt been started for like a week.

these problems are also accompanied by car wanting to die unless i give slight throttle momentarily, but after that, the car runs like a kenyan. any help?

im pretty sure the rattling is the lifters, as ive had several mechanics listen to it, and they say they hear no timing chain. and obviously the squeeking is the belts, and i have no idea what the mysterious horse noise is? starter? alternater?

I had the exact same problem for the longest. No matter how many times I tightened the belts they would squeak and there was this rattling that I thought was my timing chain. It ended up being that one of the bolts holding the alternator on was loose and ready to fall out. I would double check it.
