I have had my Rogue for a bit more than 2 years and during this period I have added some additional sound insulation and also some additional weatherstripping in the doors. The weatherstripping in the doors seems to have eliminated the howling sound when encountering strong crosswinds. Yes I realize cosmeticaly its so so, but its not visible when doors are closed. I also added some weatherstripping between the windshield and cowl, where a lot of dirt/dust would collect and cause all sort of noises.
The sound insulation is added in the trunk area( black pieces), inside wheel wells, all doors and inside of the rear hatch. Seems to make it all a bit more solid. In fact I really dont have any serious rattles to speak of.

Last two pics show my dashboard insert.

If its still under warranty why not take it to a good Nissan dealer?

Hey man I am just trying to help you out because I am sure wind noise is not normal. But I am not sure how much Nissan has let themselves go quality wise.

To each his own but I like my car OEM new.

Look I just posted this because some others had some similar issues. Just wanted to let them know what I did to solve some of these things. Do you have a Rogue?? If not why come in here and talk about Infiniti??

Sorry I though you were looking for help. I am a Infiniti person as you can see by the car I own, I should have said Nissan dealer instead. I will avoid the Nissan Rogue section from now on as well.

Great pics and info! Much appreciated!
I've been planning on taking my car to the dealer to have several rattles addressed when I have the time to, but I'm not holding out too much hope and expect to have a few left.
Have you had any rattles from the bottom of the A-Pillar or top of the B-Pillar?

whoa u guys need to chill, hes just saying if you had a problem with the rogue why not let the dealer fix it; without any prior knowledge that you like to fix the problems on your own rather than have the dealer tear it apart (and thats perfectly fine) and if he had rattles he would get the dealer to fix it rather than tackle the problem by himself...and everyone has their own opinion which is welcome here, even if you do not have a rogue. That's how one learns about other cars and potential future purchases(or avoidance's), by visiting forums etc.

ps. I like the dash kit any more pics

pss I also sometimes get a rattle from the driver side A pillar to the top of the B pillar, that and my speakers rattle :(

Harry G is right, everyone is entitled to their opinion provided it isn't offensive and we all need to follow basic rules of conduct including respect for opinions even if you don't agree with them. If you post information on here regarding your car then be prepared for feedback and various points of view, that's the point of a forum.

First of all, I did not ask for anybodies help, second of all I was not complaining about these issues. I was merely offering my solutions to some of these issues. Kerrton, you also "complained" about the noises from the cowl area. Others have complained about the howling with heavy crosswinds. Showing some pics I thought would be helpful if some you are so inclined to do some of this yourself.
Anyways so much for trying to be helpful. From now on I will just not bother giving out anymore suggestions.

Paul you're misinterpreting me, I am thankful that you took the time to post those pics, that is exactly what we need and I agree with your solution. I know because like you said I've had several noise issues that i've dealt wtih, and actually I dealt with the wind noise pretty much exactly like you did because Nissan was not able to do much for me when I mentioned it. Basically it's too hard to reproduce for them and they don't have the ability to fix it either, unless of course I got really pushy then who knows but I preferred to just solve it myself. So I agree with you completely, but my point is this is a DISCUSSION forum, anything you post up is open for discussion, everyone is allowed to comment and you're bound to run into somone who you don't agree with. This isn't a reason to get upset, you have the option to offer a counter point (like you did) or ignore it and move on.

The only point I was trying to make was that on this forum everyone is entitled to their opinion provided they're being respectful of everyone else, that's it. I don't see any reason why you need to stop contributing to this forum, but of course that's your choice, I hope you continue to be a member of this forum.

Paul,

Where did you get the dashboard insert? I've been looking for something like that and was wondering if you got it off of Ebay. How much was the insert and what color did you get? I know it's silver, but wasn't sure if there was a specific name or color code. Many of the silvers I see on Ebay look similar, but it's hard to tell in a pic sometimes. I like your's though. It matches and doesn't look cheesy or anything.

Thanks!

The kit is from Sherwood Innovations, but I bought it from a US dealer http://www.wooddash.com. The color is called glossy silver (AD) I was able to check a sample at a local dealer here in Edmonton( who wanted way too much $$$ for the same kit) and found that glossy silver looked best combined with the rest of the materials used in the Rogue. I did not use the console insert as it looked to much. I paid $163 CDN for the kit, local dealer wanted $300 CDN !!! Sad I had to buy a Canadian product in the US .
