rattle rattle

When I really get on it, I hear a rattling sound, like something is loose in the timing or something. Haven't lost any power, but I haven't really had time to thoroughly check it out yet.

That's really the only thing I need to do before I start my first phase of mods. Other than that, the check engine light came on, but I think that's horse***t, because the car runs strong as an ox. Any ideas on the little rattling noise?

Get the CEL checked anyway. It's probably the gas cap or something stupid.

What car, btw? edit: '96 240, found it...

My car has a nice vibration when I get on it from the door pillar behind my left ear, just cause of the exhaust/intake noise.

Where's your rattle coming from?

Never ignore a CEL. Its there to keep you informed. I would bet 10 bucks that the CEL came on with a code for your knock sensor, since it sounds as if that is your "rattle".

Try running premium and see if the rattle goes away.
