This is my first post here.

Ok. Here's my questionI have a slight rattle coming from my exhaust. It is where the exhaust comes from where the header connects to the down pipe part of the exhaust. The rattle is coming from the covering around the pipe. Is there any quick fix to this. Ther reason I ask for a quick fix is because I am planning on swapping out my exhaust for a better than stock.

Any help will be appreciated.

It's either your heatshield, you can just take it off or try to tighten down the screws, or your cat is in the process of hollowing itself out. My cat broke apart from the inside and it made a rattle sound, then made this whirling annoying sound when it was completly hollow

What kind of rattle is it? Is a twangy metal sound rattle? If so go with the heat shield. Push on it with a rag so you dont burn yourself if its hot and if it stops either tighten the bolts or remove it all together. If its a more deeper rattle it could be your cat or I had a problem where my muffler was toast (outside looked bran new) and it made a deep rattle sound like it was comming from my exhaust man.

Agreed, tighten all the bolts. Check to see if the rattle occurs in neutral too. If it doesnt then it is something else altogether.

I found out the rattle was coming from the fact that the insulation was missing from the shield surrounding the exhaust between the collector and the catalytic convertor.

Thanks for the help everybody.:D
