I am getting a rattle noise when I turn my music up. This noise is in my 2 doors and in the back, but mostly in the doors. I notice that the noise is significantly less when my windows are down. I have the factory BOSE system and have done nothing - yet - to the car, except tint.

I'm wondering if anyone knows of a quick, easy, and cheap fix for this?

Thanks in advance for any advice!

That's a ridiculous option, lol! Gotta listen to bass still! Music would sound like crap otherwise! In my first car, a Saturn coupe, i bought some thick weather stripping and put it along the speaker; it worked but looked horrible. In my second car, '96 Camaro, i put cardboard behind the speakers. You couldn't see it but it stopped the metal to metal bang. Good fix...

WOAH man... your just gonna blow the speakers with the bass turned up like that...

Get a cheap sub for the trunk!

Also, forget the weatherstripping and cardboard.. thats for civics... Grab yourself some dynamat or other sound deadening material and lay it down... the only thing shaking will be your head when you dont hear any rattles!

To be honest, if you've got the bass turned up that loud on the stock Bose system, it already does sound like crap. Those speakers are not good enough for that much low frequency. I would honestly turn down the bass. You're not going to rattle windows with the Bose system, so I would recommend not even trying. Don't waste your money on sound deadener like Dynamat, etc (not to mention, getting to the outer skin on the door is a pain). If you think the stereo sounds good with the bass jacked up that high, the rattle shouldn't bother you (it probably sounds better than what the speakers are doing).

I wouldn't say that i think the music sounds "good" by any stretch. It's decent, but i have heard SIGNIFICANTLY better quality in other peoples cars whom have a custom stereo. I have the bass level on +3, on a 5 scale. I know that with BOSE i can't truly enjoy all the wonderful aspects of my music, when compared to those systems composed of Boston Acoustic, Infinity, and other high end components. Just trying to learn what the best approach is before i can upgrade. If turning down the bass is truly the best option, i will take the advice and proceed.

Now i REALLY need some new car audio stuff so i can blast my music! thx!

Gotcha. I would definitely start saving up for audio equipment if you value a good sound. It doesn't take too terribly much to top the Bose system. I would recommend turning the bass down for now. If/when you get around to upgrading the stereo, I would look at sound deadening then (this way you can kill two birds with one stone while the car is apart). This is all just my opinion though.

Sound deadener can get expensive, so if you decide to go this route plan on that. Adding deadener now will not hurt the vehicle or the sound performance. It will make it sound better. To me, though, it doesn't add as much value until the stereo is upgraded. Again, IMHO.
