Has anyone else experienced a noise coming from the rear of the car when there are passengers in the 3rd row. Anytime I have people in the third row, I hear a rattle. This happens whether there is a bump in the road or it is a perfect road. Let me know if anyone has this problem and what can be done to fix this problem.

It seams to be there is a TSB on this problem. Let me check when I get back to work on monday to be sure. You gotta do me a favor though. Bump this thread sunday night so I dont forget. I have a bad habit of that.

NISTECH, I am new to the board, but I hope this is what bumping means. While we are at it, what is WOT? I have read the term all over the boards but don't figure out what it means.

just to help you out...

yes. a bump is just a short post to get the thread back to the top of the list. then when NISTECH logs on it will be the first thread he sees. WOT stands for wide-open throttle.

I really appoligize for the delay. I am very forgetful at times or get to busy and dont always have the time to grab this info.

However today I thought of you and grabbed the info on this TSB. It is NTB05-054 The heading on the TSB is 2005 Pathfinder; Rumble, rattle or bang noise from rear of vehicle. This bulliten only applies to vehicles built before 4/05. The description of when it occurs is "There is a rumble, rattle,or bang noise coming from the rear (cargo) area of the vehicle when: Carrying passengersgoing over bumpsAccelerating.

The problem is the rear exhaust tube hitting the underbody of the car when it moves around in its hangers over bumps.

The fix is to loosen the exhuast tube and twist it so it wont contact the under body over bumps.

Again very sorry for the delay.

Thank you very much. I will be taking the TSB out to the dealer to let them know exactly how to fix this issue. Thanks once again. I appreciate it. I hope this is the last issue I have with the truck.

It wont be, its a new model. When you buy the first yr model of a vehicle you have to accept there will be some bugs that will need to be worked out. Do your front brakes squeek awful loud yet? If not they likely will. Engineering is working on that issue now. They took samples from our dealer for testing.
