Ok, since my head will be commin back apart, I think I want to paint my valve covers. I already painted my upper timing cover flat black. BTW, if you click "Other", you better provide an alternative

I chose "other". I vote powdercoating! Paint won't last! Eventually it will fade, chip, crack, etc!

oh and if you choose pink, go with this color "berry pink" its made by rustoleum painters touch brand. I used it on my intercooler piping and it came out great, im going to see if the people i buy powder from can match it, and then powder coat them that color.

florescent pink from Lowe's/Home Depot. the only good pink out there. however, that being said, just general purpose paint, not high temp, so not sure how it'll hold up in the engine bay. i can tell you that brake fluid > pink paint though.

What about some of that duplicolor metalcast thats supposed to be somewaht of an anodized coating? I used some of the dark chrome on a few of my parts in my engine bay and it came out looking alright. Supposed to be heat resistant up to 500F too.

Otherwise...yashio factory pink!

So I went to Wally World and picked up flourscent pink, Rustoleum primer, and Krylon acrylic high gloss clear. I'll have pics up when they are done (think Wednesday or so).

yeah we do our powder coating in house,so i give hook ups to alot of people espesially if they preprep it some, we have ceramic coatings, but for most of our stuff for customers we send them out to a place local place that does inside and ouside of the pipes we can only do outsides as of yet. they are a pretty big finishing company and have customers from all around the country.

This is just to tide me over until I get the motor rebuilt. I promise they will be PC'ed for the final buildup.

I think I am going to skip my afternoon class (intro to psychology..aka "Blow Off Class") and give this a shot.

It's true. Psych is a blowoff class. My professor even told us he knew we would skip, so there was no attendance policy.

Now lets get some pics of those valve covers.

Lol. I just got the primer on, and I am waiting for it to dry, then I will be sanding and applying the pink later on tonite. Clear should go on tomorrow, so look for pics tomorrow night.

On a happy note, took me 2 hours to get down to the head. I could be back on the road by the end of the week!

Um. Very "too late". I painted them 3 different shades of pink since then. In the time since, I have become quite notorious online for my pink CA.
