rattle at start up

Hello I have an 04 I35. Recently I have knowticed a quick 1.5 second rattle at the time I start the motor. Mostly if the car sits for 30min and especially when cold starting. I assume its motor related. Should I live with the nosie of have it fixed.

Any suggestions ?

Its probably just timing chain rattle. Mine does the same thing

I hope so. It is a bit embarrasing to fire up the engine and the first thing people hear is that rattle.

if you are mechanically inclined you can always get down there and change your timing chain tensioners

Checked your oil level lately? Could also be a faulty anti drain back valve in the oil filter.
