This may seem like an odd topic, but I'm so fed up with finding new nicks and scratches on the bumper of my Versa. I wanted to see how everyone on this forum would rate the condition of their own cars on a 100 point scale.

100 %: Your Versa is in absolutely perfect shape; pretty much fresh out of the showroom.

50 %: Your Versa is beat all to hell, but it still runs and occasionally the sun hits it just right so that you can notice a slight bit of shine left in the finish.

0 %: Your Versa is nothing but scrap metal at this point.

Obviously, yours can fall anywhere between those three I listed.

I'd say mine is like 95% or so. Like I said, I keep finding new little places of rock damage on the bumper and occasionally little scuffs here and there. It still looks great and I plan to continue to do everything that I can to keep it that way. It seems that the more that I worry about it, the more stuff happens to it. I swear, my Maxima was white like my Versa and I don't remember it ever getting this dinged up. Of course, it wasn't a brand new car either. It was already nine years old when I bought it.

My Versa's 11 months old this week, and even with 33,500 miles on it, I'd have to give it a 95%. I baby it with a professional car wash about once a month, and other than a small chip in the paint on the leading edge of the hood, it looks almost as good as my daughter's, which is about two weeks old.

98% and just 1 year old.I put a scratch on the door being stupid. In my defense it was early morning and nobody has any business being lucid and coherent at 7 in the morning.

Handy Dandy bottle of touch-up paint did the trick. Just keep that in my glove compartment now.I need to put maybe one more coat on for good luck and then she's pretty again.

mine is 1 year old at the end of this month. I would rate it 85. i rear ended into someone, cracked the license's plate cover and bracket and put a tiny little crease on the bumper edge. you will only notice when the light shines at it. and the cargo vinyl has a couple scratches due to hockey bag wheels. Left strut has been changed several times but fixed now. It only has 8000kms on it. To me, it is still perfect. I'll post pics on a sunny day.

It really disturbs me to read about all the people with door dings and other random battle damage... (well, Brandon, in your case you did it to yourself) but I can't believe that so many people would just open their doors into an obviously new car and just not care enough to 1) have been careful in the first place or 2) leave a note...

This part does not surprise me in the least. When I was 19, I was driving a relatively old '87 Subaru GL 4WD sedan (very similar to your old Loyale). It was obviously an older car, but it wasn't beat to hell, its body was actually in quite good condition.

One day I was sitting in a parking lot, eating some McGrease, and some lady pulls out of her parking spot too sharply, and drags her bumper most of the way down the right side of my car. I get out to look at the damage, and she puts her car into drive to leave!

I jumped in front of her car, so she wouldn't get anywhere, and she screamed at me to get out of the way. I told her she hit my car, she said "bull****", and I pointed to her paint on my door and said "Hit and Run is a felony. Try to leave, and I will have the cops arrest you."

It took THAT much for someone to take responsibility for the damage they caused in a parking lot. It's not like it was even that much damage! I was able to find a replacement rear door, in the correct color, for $25 at a pull-a-part yard!

You would think that in my line of work I would stop being surprised by this $4!7... but I don't think I want to stop being surprised at it... I guess that is really naive... Sometimes when talking to Rodney (about our work) I am amazed not only at the fact that he can deal with it, but moreso at the fact that he manages to be supportive of the fact that sometimes I can't...

Sorry, end of threadjack...

i was sitting in my car wasting time till I had to go into the gym, when some B**** pulled up and just flung open her door into the side of mine. I was ticked! I just glared at her and she wouldn't even look at me once she realized I was in the car. She just left a little paint on the car which I just rubbed off. I don't remember if I wrote something nasty into the dirt on her vehicle...

These are the times when I wish I would get bumper stickers made to slap on to the backs of those idiot's cars. things like...

"Butt-flinger!" for those people who throw their cigs out the window(usually in fire prone areas)

"I'm an idiot..." for pretty much anyone.

"I'm a self-absorbed jack@$$ with no sense of common courtesy."

oh- and I'm down to 95%. Just spilled some gravy on the seat from some leftovers from Texas Roadhouse. And THAT"S why you always get the dark interior!

Mine is sapphire blue, and about 2 months old. She's about 98%. There are a few small nicks in my bumper from just driving, but I wash it every weekend, and I park far away from everyone to avoid door dings. I treat her like my baby. My dash is pretty good, b/c I put armor all on it.

She's still only getting 30mpg, tho. I drive 52.4 miles each way to work each day, so I was hoping for more around the 36mpg like the commercial says. Oh well, I still love her!

FWIW, my Versa is now back up to 100% Overall. My dash being at 50% was because the stereo was missing and I hadn't put the pieces back together, because I didn't want to untill I got the stereo back in it.

Yeah, what's up with closing the bonnet / hood? Unless you drop it, and it slams closed (which sorta seems a bit abusive), you have to push down on it relatively firmly, but you can feel the sheet metal bending under your hand. Seems an easy way to mess up the hood.... :-/

I'd rate my Versa at about 99%, I don't think there is a scratch on it anywhere, but there are a lot of dead bugs on the front.

95%,

Needs a wash, and a wax... small dime sized dent in the drivers side rear door, from my wallet's money clip hitting it as I got into the car .

Also, slow leak in one of the tires I'm investigating, TPMS went off, checked it, 26psi. Filled it to 32, drove off, and it stopped... Amazing.

95% one and a half month long with 1850 miles. Small door ding on passenger side from someone oppening their door and not watching how wide it was swung. Other then that it is clean.

Mine's ~70%. Got it in May 07, a week later someone backed into the driver side and left an exact imprint of their bumber across most of the door... No note. Still had the dealer's tags on and everything... I've noticed how easily the paint chips - but oddly, the big dent in the door hardly chipped the paint at all.

Just found my first minor mini-dent in the driver's side door at the high spot. Probably from my son opening the passenger door of my wife's Saturn alongside it in the garage.

IMO this is a design flaw in the V since a body side molding of some sort is really a must for parking lot protection. I like the clean lines without a molding, and the tendency of some moldings to come off with impact or age does make them problematic, but still . . . shouldn't have a ding from normal use before I've even had it 30 days.

100% untill today... now it's 92-95%. Had my V for about 2 and a half months now with 3000km on it. White 1.8SL w/ Sport package; fully loaded.

Today I just drove right into a curb that was in the center of a road. Front left tire exploded and deep scratches on the outer rim (about 5 inches along) and less heavier scratch marks on the rear left rim. Then some scratch marks, underneath the front lip where it first hit the curb. Not very noticeable until you bend down to have a look. Eughhh, my poor V Had to replace the tire completely, and soon to get a wheel alignment. Cost me $230 CDN to replace the tire at the dealer >_<

My reason.... I blame a fly. It was flying inside the car on the windshield. Wasn't focusing on the road as I tried to smack it

1. little bump on the rear door (very visible under certain angles )2. scratch on the hood (not visible but i know its there so there goes 5 points ))3. under hood plastic is gone in one place3. overall tear of 1 year old car

i guess with 20% teardown every year my 7 year old plan is going nowhere

Both of ours are at like 85% after some random a-hole decided to inflict key damage on them in the West Babylon NY area...mine (mag grey) has a chip on the hood too, and a spot on the dash where some of that air freshner oil dripped and stained the plastic...i'll still grade it 85% tho because her key damage is worse than mine. Sucks really. I gotta drop $500 for the deductible and be without our stuff for a few days and drive some rental crap while they fix them.
