Pls, how is the camera system check done? As for the codes, I want to believe you used a scanner that could read the ABS module. If not you'll get only the PCM codes. I once had this issue and it had to do with alignment adjustments.rondabigmon wrote:I just picked up a 2006 m45 sport...My car has the ras, slip and vsc lights on. But when I first start the car that are not on. If I turn the steering wheel back and forth, all those those lights will come on at once. And the active steering light will be blinking untill I shut the car off agian. I have changed the brakes and added brake fluid. Still the lights remain on. I did notice when I do the camera system check. The steering position sensor will read "ok" on the first time I move the steering wheel, but then when I turn the steering wheel the opposite way, the steering wheel sensor will not read anything.
Also, I plugged the scanner in. And the only code is for a bank 1 sensor 2. I don't think that will cause any of the lights.
Done. Thanks.rondabigmon wrote:You can check the camera system but turning tue radio off, hold the setting button and turn the volume knob. Some options will appear on the navigation screen. And you can check is sensors are working or not.

Well I checked the connections on the steering angle sensor. And they were all good. I plugged everything back up. And still the same problem. When I first start the car, thier are no lights on. If I turn the wheel all the way to the left or right. All the lights will come on at tue same time. I do not have to be in motion. This all happens while the car is still in park

Sounds like someone turned the clockspring with the wheel off and you are out of alignment.
This is the way I fixed mine when I had a similar problem:
Make sure the front car wheels are straight.
Pull the steering wheel off.
start the car.
Put the car in reverse and adjust the clock spring (move the little nipple on top that goes into the steering wheel--ONLY MOVE IT AS MUCH AS NEEDED) so that the "reverse lines" on the screen are in alignment and green.
Turn car off.
Disconnect battery and wait 10 minutes.
Center the nipple on the clock spring to the top, there are also alignment marks on the clock spring at about 7 o'clock.
Put the wheel back on.
Reconnect the battery, you will have to reset the airbag light (because of starting the car with the air bag disconnected).
Everything SHOULD be in alignment now.
This is of course assuming that the clock spring is not damaged in some way.
Thanks a lot. That makes a lot of sense. Theres a possibly it can be damaged. You think I am better off just buying a new steering wheel off ebay ?DeanM45 wrote:Yep, all lights on. This all happened when I was first installing the paddle shifters. If the battery is connected and the clock spring is moved AT ALL it will throw alignment off.
No, it is not the steering wheel. It is the clock spring which is a separate piece. Try what I posted above first and see if it fixes the problem. Clock springs are not cheap.rondabigmon wrote:Thanks a lot. That makes a lot of sense. Theres a possibly it can be damaged. I just finished doing this, and it appears you were right. I lined everything up. Drop the car around the block. Everything was fine. The traction control was working no lights came on. Thank you very much!DeanM45 wrote:Pull off airbag and then the steering wheel. There is no "knob". You'll be staring at the clock spring mechanism. About a 3" donut looking thing with a nipple at the top that fits into a hole on the top of the steering wheel just above the steering shaft that the wheel is bolted onto with a 17mm nut (or 19mm, can't remember). Do NOT just spin it around, you will break the internal mechanism. Little movements are fine (to re-align it) but don't just sit there and spin it.
