Check tirerack.com

The 185's are not available in 16's. Try 15 or 14.

The 195/55-16 is the only one I have a listing on and that's very limited. Only the Firestone Firehawk GTA 02 at $69 and the Goodyear Eagle NCT 5 at $159. Both are H rated all-seasons and nothing much to write home about. Everything else in that size is going to be a run-flat.

first off, 40 is not the height, please read the FAQ and the links there.'the 335-35-15 is a pirelli Pzero from a Vector W12 I think(its the rear on one of the vectors from the late 80's) I've seen one....looks...odd.

my curretn favorite tire size is 255-35-18 and 225-45-17, both have just enough sidewall to round the shoulder blocks for a progressive feel, and coem in plenty of sticky sizes(runner up: 235-40-17 and 265/285-35-18)

on a thred related note, why do you want those sizes?-chet

Chet, I think 335/35-15 where also used on Panteras, but I might be wrong. I'd really like to see a picture of this tire...

I think the key word there is "were". None of the major tire makers produce that size anymore.

Originally, no. IIRC they came with 215/70/15 (not 100% on this) and later switched to Pirelli and used 225/70/15's (for the 72 model year).

Now people use all kinds of crazy setups b/c Pirelli stopped making that tire at one point (no clue now) so owners that wanted to maintain the OE look got custom versions of the stock wheels made in really wide sizes.

Yeah, I dont know if the pantera used theat size or not, but the Pirelli rep I talked to abouta year and a half ago said it fit a vector...

projectrb- No, its is NOT height, its an aspect ratio, used to drive sidewall height by using section width.

no, its a ratio. 255/40-17 for example

the sidewall is 40% of 255mm

a 275/40-17 and a 255/40-17 have different height sidewalls.

a 275/40-17 tire has an overall height of 25.66 inches.

a 255/40-17 tire has an overall height of 25.03 inches

section width * .aspect * 2 /25.4 + rim size

{[(275 * .40) *2] / 25.4} + 17

I have 16x7.5" wheels, I want to stretch a tire so I can break loose a little easier in the rear for drifting...I'm a beginner and have a KA w/ little mods and it would make it a little easier and a cleaner breakaway...

why not just buy a non-sticky tire?

that would simplify things quite a bit. I know theres some crap S or T-rated tires in the 16" tire sizes, so just pop some of the el-cheapos on for drifting.-chet

Thats what I usually do and thats great for practicing, but as I get better and compete, I'm going to be wanting to use a stickier tire because you get more control and predictability...

well once you're good you wont need to worry about crappy sizing, becase the more stable a tire is, the more stable the drift will be.-chet
