yeah, the Mid 4 is neato, what was the powerplant in it?

I think it was a VG30ETT, but not 100% sure.

the Mid 4 is a concept/showcase car, all concept cars are rare, doesnt really count in my opinion....

The R390 road car had to be produced, but not sold, in order to race with the R390 race car in europe. It doesnt really count either but I thought I would throw it in there because it is technically road legal in japan.

This itteration of the Mid4 was equiped with the VG30DETT:

The first Mid4 concept had a VG30ET(T?)

"Rare" is a pretty relative term. S12's are pretty rare these days. Skylines are extremely rare in North America but not elsewhere. Pretty much anything from the '80s is rare enough to do a double take when you see one.

Oh, excuse me, after a quick look....it's the L24E that was in the maxima...not the 28.

I've saw a R33 GTR in a parking lot, yeah I was drooling and wishing, but I wasnt thinking "OMG YOU ONLY SEE THESE IN PERSON MAYBE ONCE IN A LIFE TIME". Go visit japan for a week and you will see dozens of them. Now if it was a 400R, I would have creemed my pants, because that would have been a once in a lifetime experience.

I dont think nissan ever sold any sort of exclusive car here. The US market hasnt been ready to pay top dollar for ultra rare special edition nissans/infinitis/datsuns. If they did release an exclusive car, it would have been based on their sportiest car at the time (240-280Z, Z31, Z32, Z33, etc...) and not their economy family car offerings.

yeah, i think we made have had special editions of those cars, but thats about it. and most of the "special editions" were just paint schemes.

actually I know of an s12 in "good shape" with the V-6 for 500 bucks, needs a clutch. wish I had 500 I'd buy that just to sell it again for more.

Thought of another one.... 88 300ZX Turbo Special Edition. No marketing scheme...it really exists. Only color was white....and had white wheels just like an 89, but it was an 88.

I'm not sure exactly what it was called...that may be it. All I know for sure is it was an 88 model car.

Yeah he means the Shiro Special, that's the all-white one. Those are rare, I only know one guy who has one, and he also owns a 200SX V6.

Andrave, any more info on that V6 S12? I know several people who would love to get their hands on one.

My friend used to have one when I was in school up in Minnesota....that's how I found out about it. It was pretty sweet....I think he sold it to some guy in OH though.

Oh, yeah I knew about that one. I'm a moderator at Club S12. Since it's posted there everybody I know already knows about it. Too bad so few of the members are in the Northeast, where they can easily snag that car. The climate up there is not very conducive to older Japanese cars making it this long.
