Occasionally when I unlock the car with the key fob and open up the driver door, the car will rapidly beep for a few seconds. I have a hard time getting it to do it when I want it to, but occasionally it will do it and I can't figure out why it does this! I think it's the same beeps as when you leave the key in the car and try to lock the doors. However, the key is on me, and I just went up to it and opened the door.

Does anyone have this same issue occasionally? And if so, do you know what causes it or what it means?

The only time that happens to me is when either I start the car and walk away from it for a minute but have the keys with me, or when I leave the keys in the car and shut the door while I am washing it or similar.

I think that happens to me when I open the car on occasion, but I'm not sure I ever know why. I may, but certainly don't remember ATM. However, post6594683.html

Maybe it's when you try to lock the doors and it thinks the key is still in the cabin so the doors don't lock or something.

I wish I could get a video of it doing it so it would be clearer what's happening.

The only thing I could think of that might be happening is that when opening the door I hit the button on the door that locks/unlocks the doors. Because if I hit that button with the door open then it does make the rapid beeps that I am talking about. That might be possible, but I really don't think I accidentally hit the button everytime it does it. But maybe?

If you don't hit it every time, maybe there is a short or a glitch that makes the car think it was hit. Now that you mention that, in my case, I think it's usually because the passenger door is open (wife hasn't closed it yet and I'm trying to lock the car).

My wife used to set off the beeps all the time... if you don't watch how you hold the door handle, it is easy to press the button while pulling the door open.
