It is true, in my experiences, that G35 has rapid acceleration when the foot is put on the brake pedal. It has happened to me at red lights, at the garage door, at crosswalks, and recently in stop-and-go traffic. It scares the pants off of me. The car takes off at a faster speed than any human would apply to the gas pedal. I thought that I was going to kill the person in the crosswalk. So did the person in the crosswalk.

I have now hit 2 cars in the stop and go traffic jam. I have owned my G35 for 10 years, and Infiniti says that no such thing is possible. That is B. S. Trust me, it happens. It is mechanical. It is not human error.

I just want to clarify a couple things.

Were you sitting at a stop, foot on the brake, you made no change in your foot position and suddenly the engine revved? I assume you have an Automatic.

Did the car then overpower your current pressure you were applying to the brakes?

Did the revs surprise you and you let off all pedals when it happened?

Does the engine idle inconsistently or somewhat lower than you remember it used to?

Has any car mechanic (Infiniti or a trusted 3rd party) looked at it?

I do believe you that a car's engine can suddenly rev while stopped. It has never happened to me in my G35, but I had another car that did this. It was a mechanical issue. Fuel pump, fuel pump sensor or something like that (was a while ago don't exactly recall). And it didn't throw any codes for the shop to read. Either way, the shop fixed it, and it worked fine after. Before I got it fixed, I made sure to apply maximum pressure on the brake pedal whenever I was near something I could hit just in case it happened. I know that I personally got comfortable with applying just enough pedal pressure to keep the car from moving at idle so the first time this issue happened, it was very surprising.

We did have another thread about similar issues. You might have already read it and did not want to necro, but here's the link. g37-unintended-acceleration-t320427.html

Good luck with your issue,
Lars

I'm guessing you have an automatic transmission. If you had a manual, you would be used to putting it into neutral in such situations so you don't have to keep your foot on the clutch pedal.

Until (or unless) you can get the revving problem diagnosed and repaired, I suggest you put the transmission into neutral when stopped for more than a few seconds. Then, it won't matter if the engine revs up. It's not something you should have to do but it's preferable to crashing into others.
