This is the official post for Ranzo's Battle Drift (tm) competition Presented by Traction Optional. For those of you who do not already know about this event I will explain it here. This is an Elimination type event. Two cars will simultaneously begin from a drag race standing start and compete on a mirror course side-by-side. Each contestant will be judged on Speed, Style, Angle and Line. Runs will be timed and times are figured into judging for speed purposes etc. Each participant will have the opportunity to run on both the left and right sides of the "mirror". The winner of each battle will be determined from the combined times and techniques from their runs on both sides of the course.

There will be seven classes available. Some of these will not fill up and others will be crowded. I realize this already, so if too few entrants sign up for a particular class then that class will not run and there may be some integration of classes. Not every issue has been 100% worked out at this point. Anyway the classes are as follows:

FR Turbo, FR N/A, FF Turbo, FF N/A, 4WD Turbo, 4WD N/A and a special class called Tuner Challenge. The main classes should be self-explanatory, if not we can explain later. The tuner challenge class is limited to shop cars or shop sponsored cars. Entries into this class will require validation from the shop being represented. There is more information available on this topic, any shops that are interested please contact Ranzo..... [email protected] There will be trophies/prizes awarded for the top three placers in all classes.

The date for this event is October 28th at the Walnut Ridge Airport in Walnut Ridge, AR, just two hours west of Memphis, TN. The schedule will be as follows:

This event will be covered in a special section on TractionOptional.com with Pics/video and Winners will be recognized prominently. So whoever thinks they got what it takes to turn a good time with some aggressive style, sign up for this event at http://www.tractionoptional.com!
