Am I the only one who is seriously bothered by people who claim to like a car, but destroy the pool of that car, when no more are being made?

For example: I like 240's, I think they're neat looking cars, and mine's loads of fun to drive. It's got body issues, from damaged quarterpanels and fenders to roof, which would make a lot of people sell it.... like, what? ESPECIALLY if it means they pull their engine, meaning the car will likely end up parted out. It's all in the plan, I'll get to it at some point. You can spend years under the hood, but not a few days with hammers and bondo?

ie, the guy who tells you how much he loves his car, and then goes on to tell you that he just parted out his last one because body work cost too much. SO do it yourself, or something? I think it's silly to remove a car that's not totaled from the pool. And even if someone buys your ripped up chassis and the parts from some OTHER guy who parted his stuff out, he might end up with your salvage title, or whatever.

Or like, I saw a thread on another forum from some guy who thought he was THE sh*t, for drifting with 500hp, (which even I know you don't need, I know people who do it with stock motors, though not on this car) and was whining because he kept shattering his transmissions by dumping the clutch, and said he was going thru like 8 a year. OKAY, so there's obviously a problem, the car can't take that much power and you don't know how to drive it, either find parts that can take it or stop wrecking stuff. And he was complaing about the prices of transmissions going up, and blaming oppertuests. Like NO, it's because its a 10-20 year old car, and there's douches like you systematically DESTROYING THE PARTS THAT PEOPLE NEED, so of course the parts will cost more.

....Yes, I'm too easily bothered by other peoples actions. But it bothers me to see things that could be fixed destroyed. Especially when they're things that I like, and wish I had the money for.

Don't screw it up for everyone because you're lazy, fix it!

It's trendy to tear things up (and then fix them with zipties as if you don't care what it looks like - even though you're terribly concerned about proper wheel "flushness").

It is rather humorous.

Well I can't comment on zipties, I love the things.... But I'm not too worried about parting out my car because the wheels arn't hella flush, in fact both my fenders have mashes half as wide as the fender :gapteeth:

lol. I hear ya. Not much you can really do. It is more cost efficient to get another rolling shell than spend thousands on body repair. That is what I would do. I can't stand people that think our cars need to be "hella flush" to look cool with negative camber replacing tires every 2k miles. If that is what you like go for it. Don't get mad when your damn wheel assembly falls off though. Zipties make 240's look like Frankenstein lol.

you're awfully defensive over inanimate objects. what people do with their property is their prerogative, get over it.

I dislike people destroying things, period.

I dislike people who break old cars, or computers, or just about anything, because they got a newer better one.

It sort of feels like the general spirit of cash for clunkers... break things, make them harder to get and more expensive for others, feel cool :woot:
