Since it's winter, I like to run my SR for a few minutes every couple days. I do it to make sure it cranks when spring arrives. All I've really noticed is a noisy lifter which developed sometime in mid-december (car was stored in early-december). I'll take care of the lifter when it's warmer out and the car will actually get some use.

Then about 2 weeks ago, I noticed this odd vibration sound while it was running. It wasn't there upon start-up, it wasn't there the whole time, and it wasn't really too loud. It just randomly came after a short while.

To describe, it's kind of a light vibration-rattle type of sound. It beats about 4 times per second and while I couldn't pinpoint it... it seems to be coming from somewhere up-front. As soon as I was going to open the engine bay to check, it stopped. I've heard borked waterpumps and it didn't sound too much like that.

I honestly don't think it's anything bad, but rather it's something from the cold weather in Minnesnowta. I'm only curious what everyone thinks it is.

It sounds like you have a lifter tap or a timing chain tensioner bleeding down then pumping up after start up. My det in my front drive 200sx does this after it sits for long periods of time but if I drive it daily in the summer it does not rattle on start up. Don't know if your having a problem or its just normal?
