hmmm, maybe just jack up the car and check joints, wheel hubs, arms, etc.

I was going to be a smart A** and tell you that you need to keep the dead body in the trunk tied down better.

BUT.... on a more serious note. Check the full suspension INCLUDING WHEEL BEARINGS. I am thinking wheel bearing but just about any suspension part could cause your problem.

Remember that the strut mounts have bearings in them also.

check the following: tie rod end linksfront tension rod bushingsrear subframe bushings steering rack bushings

most likely not your upper strut mounts. They can go bad like anything else but they wouldn't cause a change in suspension geometry to suddenly make the car feel 'crazy'.

also wheel bearings i guess are possible, but they'd have to be way past the "what the **** is that constant grinding noise i keep hearing" phase to cause a problem as described. Lower A-Arm ball joints could do it too but my guess is the rear subframe bushings are so far gone that the sound you hear is the entire rear suspension assembly shifting and the perimeter of where the bushings go is hitting the studs the subframe is mounted to. that would also make the car feel 'crazy' for sure.

also, slow down a bit, for your own safety. i wouldnt exactly trust the problem to correct itself every time you go that little bit faster. you dont want anything unpredictable to happen.
