random steering wheel chatter at speeds 50-60

My 2000 q45 anny has random wheel chatter at speeds 50-60 also when releasing the brake pedal there is a clunk sound. Is this a tie rod bushing going bad.

Addition to what you said with the tie rod ends, you might also consider the brake rotors.

WRT the clunk, my 99 has recently developed a clunk when the brake pedal is quickly released following a fairly strong application at speed. I think it's the rear shock mount. As the brakes are released the car returns to a more level attitude the nose rises and the tail settles onto the bad mount. At least that's my theory and the one that I am going to try and remedy as soon as the arctic blast lets up. Homie don't do car work in single digit temps.
