lately I've been getting some random start troubles and the car wont start unless i floor the gas resulting in a slight smell of gas in the cabin. it will have slight jumpy idles and I've already cleaned the MAF (which made the idles better). i bought a new battery last year and i add good fuel injection cleaner every oil change. does anyone have any ideas?

sorry that i dont have the answer, but the same thing happened to my altima this weekend. had to hold the pedal to the floor, to get it to start. after that, it started up fine.

May be a fuel pump issue? When's the last time you changed your fuel filter?

I know mine is a bit different case but just want to bring it up here.

Two times after I charged my GPS with ignition turned to ACC or ON without starting the engine, for about an hour or so. Then I unplugged the GPS and started the engine. It didn't start. I took key out, then inserted and turned, it started normally as if nothing happend. I don't think the six month old battery got weak after one hour charging.

Other than that, zero problem over almost six years.
