I drove my car home about two miles from work yesterday, left the car for about 20 minutes, and then went to go somewhere else. The car stalled when I tried to start it. This is the first time I've ever seen this behavior, and I can't duplicate it. I did the same thing today and the car started fine. Everything with this vehicle is up to date with regards to maintenance and the MAF was replaced about six months ago. Could it be going bad again?

I wouldn't think that the MAF would go bad that fast, but there could be contributing factors (ie. K&N filter). Unfortunately with most intermittent problems, you may have to wait until the problem gets worse before you can properly diagnose the problem.

Clean the battery poles and connectors with wire brush, then spray with battery connector protectant. As an alternate, use baking soda diluted inwater (2 tablespoons to a quart of water) and spray on the connectors and and frame to prevent corrosion.

You may have a loose wiring on the main engine harness. Whenever you have a starting problem, ask somebody to start the car while you wiggle the main harness. Also, clean the ground leads besides the intake plenum, then apply dielectric grease before reconnection.

How's the fuel pressure?
