Got a few questions. The previous owner painted the vents and door handle areas in my interior white, but it looks really bad and is fading. Anyone know what the best way to get this off is? Someone told me thinner will damage the plastic and told me I'd have to sand them down and repaint...?Also, I have a 5spd and my transmission linkage is really loose(at least compared to my mx6). Wondering if yours is the same or if this is a bad sign of something maybe? I don't like how it feels. Would a short shifter change the feel? So far my 240 isn't that enjoyable to drive because of the sticky gas pedal(no smooth transition from foot off the pedal to light application. I have to tap it to get past the sticky part so I don't stall in 1st gear), uncomfortable seats, annoying as hell exhaust, unfamiliar smelling interior, and no sound system. I've got the next two days off though, so hopefully all but the last thing will change.

Keep driving, you'll get used to it. I'm sure someone knows how to fix most of that. I think there was a thread about un-painting the inside recently, look around. Good luck!

It could be a bushing in your shifter that is bad. We had a 210 that had that problem. :batman

The only way I know is to remove the shifter and check it. Thats the only way I can think of at the moment. It will probly look really worn or even broken. Sorry I can't be of more help. Maybe someone can come in and help me out with this.

check this thread http://www.nissaninfiniticlub....shing has a good write up on it. although you can remove the shifter without completly removing the boots from the shifter. This guy went a bit over board but the info from the c-clip on is good. A short shifter kit I would think would have the new bushings and all with it if you want to go that far.

my shifter is really loose as well, I always thought it was a common 240 thing. eh it doesnt really hurt anything right now, I can still shift just fine. It'll be all good till I get a short shifter or the nismo solid shifter.

and for the vents yeah Id say just go rip em outta a junkyard car, cant cost ya much at all.

I think a short shifter would be cool, but I'm not really ready to pay the $200 for a good one(heard B&M was the good one).

theres a junkyard near me that has 6 240s, so I'm gonna go check em out tomorrow, hopefully I can get everything I need. Maybe even stumble upon a few goodies(exhaust, nicer rims, etc.)P.S. Anyone know what I should expect/should pay for the pop-up motors, gauge cluster, random interior pieces and maybe the center console.

Good luck with that. I havent had much luck with junk yards as most of the cars are already stripped. infact the last place i went to tried to sell me a Diff that might or might not have been a LSD for $350. and if you do find that stuff, it shouldnt be more than a few dollars.
