This recently started happening and I'm only speculating it's a bad fuel pump...

This typically occurs after I have put the engine over 3500 RPM ('92 KA) and I go to shift from 20 MPH or below. From the RPM range ~2100-2700, the engine sounds acts like it's out of gas and hops until it leaves that RPM range. I can only fix it by turning the car off and starting it back up again. Additionally, it doesn't like to have the accelerator pushed in beyond 50% and the gas gauge doesn't really work properly.

Just seeing if it is in fact the fuel pump or something else? I replaced the spark plugs, ignition wires and belts.

Any help would be very helpful.

Something like this occured to me, one thing that you can check is all of your vacuum lines. Make sure that there are no leaks in your intake system and possibly clean your MAF. Hope that helps.

for not liking the accel. being pushed past 50, try getting new plugs and wires. fixed it for me.

the random power loss happens to me around 2k rpm, I have no idea what the deal is.

the gas gauges never work properly.

Im going/went through the same thing. It's an on/off occurence. Anytime I would rev past 4-5k, my engine would bog, feel unusually sluggish, and shake like hell. So I put seafoam in the gas tank. No immediate solution there.

I went and changed the plugs and wires using NGK iridiums and some cheap autozone wires(they didn't have NGK's in stock) That didn't help. The engine was getting sparks on all four cylinders, but for some reason cylinder No. 3 wasn't igniting the fuel...

Turns out that its the No. 3 Fuel Injector. It wasn't working properly. Try inspecting it. I'm pretty sure its one of your injectors.

yeah, I've always felt my no. 3 cylinder was the issue.

I've also felt it's always had something to do with the injectors. I'll fix it when I get some spare cash.

Hmm, okay. I already replaced my ignition wires and spark plugs. My friends told me to check my injectors as well, so it looks like I'll do that. Thanks.

Yeah, i had the same problem up untill my car totaly crapped out. I let the fuel injector #4 get so bad that it was spraying gas out from under the hood, so i figured it was about time to fix it. New o-rings from Auto Zone didn't fit (like everything from Auto Zone) so i just got a new injector and it solved the problem.
